Dr Richard Wellm
Dr Richard Wellm has been a GP since 2004 and joined Main Street Medical Centre in 2006. He studied medicine in Germany and trained in General Practice in the UK. He manages the whole spectrum of General Practice including chronic disease management, mental health and palliative care.
Dr Walter Hendrikse
Dr Walter Hendrikse grew up in a rural part of the Netherlands and graduated in 1997 from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He worked in the Kimberly region for 6 years before settling in Murwillumbah in 2006.
He has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine and has done advanced training in skin cancer medicine and is member of the Skin Cancer College of Australia.
He runs daily skin cancer clinics and regularly assists the visiting Plastic Surgeon with skin cancer surgery at the Murwillumbah Hospital.
Dr Cameron Williams
Dr Cameron Williams grew up on the Gold Coast before attending Sydney University gaining an honours degree in physiotherapy in 1992. He then worked as a sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapist in Australia and the UK gaining a Masters degree in Pain Management from the University of Leicester. He has worked with many sporting teams and international athletes and sports persons. He then completed a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of surgery at Griffith University on the Gold Coast.
He spent two years at the Gold Coast University Hospital before working throughout Northern NSW as a rural GP. He enjoys all aspects of primary care medicine with a special interest in sports medicine.
Dr Williams lives on the Gold Coast with his wife and four children keeping busy with surfing, fishing, boating, soccer, cricket, canoeing, cycling and running.
Dr Susan Roberts
Dr Susan Roberts obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from The University of Exeter, UK. She worked in NHS hospitals for two years prior to relocating to Australia to work in the Tweed Hospital Emergency Department in 2015. She spent the next three years between Tweed and Murwillumbah hospitals, before choosing to specialise in general practice, receiving fellowship of the RACGP in 2021.
Dr Roberts practices evidence-based medicine and has a special interest in women’s health, antenatal and breastfeeding medicine, paediatrics and sexual health.
Dr Roberts currently works on Tuesday and Friday mornings at the practice. She has additional post-graduate qualifications including a masters in medical law and a PGCert in medical education. On her days she is not at the practice, she works as a clinical editor, creating clinical management guidelines for GPs and for the RACGP training GP registrars, as well as working in the medico-legal field.
Dr Fariborz Mokhtarpour
Dr Fariborz Mokhtarpour completed his undergraduate medical training in 1996 in Iran where he worked as a general practitioner for 9 years. He then completed orthopaedic surgery training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia before moving to Australia in 2012. He has worked in different hospital positions in Alice Springs, Flinders Medical centre in Adelaide and Logan Hospital. Since 2016 he has been working as a full time general practitioner and attends surgeries at Pindara Hospital on Tuesdays. Dr Mokhtarpour joined Main Street Medical practice in 2018. While enjoying to manage the whole range of general practice presentations, Dr Mokhtarpour has special interest in musculoskeletal and skin conditions and minor surgical procedures.
Dr Melissa Herbert
Melissa completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2019.
Being a Tweed local, she happily returned to work at The Tweed Hospital for two years working across many different departments.
Prior to completing her medical degree, Mel worked as a radiographer for over a decade in many hospitals across South East Queensland and in Sydney. She also completed a Masters degree in MRI.
Melissa enjoys all aspects of general practice. Areas of particular interest include women and children’s health. She is qualified to insert and remove Implanon devices.
She has also completed a Certificate II in AUSLAN.
Dr Rachael Robinson
Rachael completed her medical degree at the University of Wollongong in 2017
Being a Tweed local, she happily returned to work once completing her medical degree at The Tweed Hospital for two years working across many different departments.
Since she has worked in a number of hospitals close to the local area.
Prior to completing her medical degree, Rachael worked as a Engineer in various locations around Australia
Rachael enjoys all aspects of general practice.
Dr Molly Colburn
Dr Molly Colburn grew up in a small village in the Essex countryside in the south-east of England.
After leaving school, Dr Colburn studied French language and linguistics at the University of East Anglia and spent time working in France.
Subsequently, she moved to London to study medicine and graduated in 2015 from Queen Mary University of London. Dr Colburn worked in NHS hospitals for four years prior to moving to Australia to work in emergency departments in Townsville, Brisbane and Dubbo. After three years in Australia, she returned to the UK to complete the UK GP training program. After obtaining membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK). Dr Colburn emigrated to Australia with her family.
Dr Colburn enjoys all aspects of general practice. Her areas of interest include women’s health, sexual health, paediatrics and urgent care.
